Two more people have been arrested related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.
A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was among the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.
Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Police were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of people injured by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.
The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
